Remembering Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

By Kevin Wayne Johnson | Authors , Books , Christianity , Religion , Spirituality

In honor and recognition of Dr. King’s 81st birthday over this weekend, we collectively celebrate the life of this wonderful man.  At the age of 19, just prior to his ordination as a minister, he stated publicly “I have an inner urge to serve mankind.”

As the United States, and the world, acknowledges his great work, while giving God the glory, let’s remember Dr. King through the teaching of Jesus in Matthew 7:12 – The Golden Rule – “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.  Although his life ended at the tender age of 39, his memory lives on forever.  Why? Because he understood his higher calling – to serve mankind.
