What’s Your Passion?

By Kevin Wayne Johnson | Authors , Books , Christianity , Religion , Spirituality , Uncategorized

What’s your passion?  What makes you tick?  What’s your motivation and driver(s) toward fulfillment or total enjoyment?

I ask because I found mine many, many years ago.  An extension of my personal ministry and reason for living is writing!  I love to write…books, articles, devotionals, and short stories. Not for me, but for my global readership. What started 8 years ago with one book has blossomed into ten books (7 as principal author and 3 as a contributing author) within 9 years.

I encourage you to follow your dreams by faith! With prayer and the proper motivation/attitude, God will grant you the desires of your heart.  Follow your goals…follow your dreams…allow God to direct your paths (Proverbs 3:6)…walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7)…and achieve!  What’s your passion?  God is waiting to assist you in its implementation.

Grandparents Day

By Kevin Wayne Johnson | Authors , Books , Christianity , Religion , Spirituality , Uncategorized

Today is Grandparent’s Day in the United States – a day set-aside to celebrate our grandparents.  In the book of Proverbs 17:6, God’s Word teaches us that “Children’s children are the crown of old men…” and also in the book of Proverbs, His Word teaches us that “A good man leaves an inheritance for his children’s children.”

In God’s first commandment with a promise, we are also taught to honor our parents:

1Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.  2Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;  3That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.  4And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Ephesians 6:1-4 (KJV)

Let’s celebrate our grandparents today for their unconditional love, patience, perseverence, coaching, correction, endurance, and love.  They helped to shape and mold our lives. Without our grandparents, where would we be?

International Literacy Day

By Kevin Wayne Johnson | Authors , Books , Christianity , Religion , Spirituality , Uncategorized

In the United States of America, its citizens literacy rate is ranked 21st (tied with multiple countries) globally out of 180 surveyed. Of these 180 countries, 12 have citizens whose overall literacy rate is 60% or less. CLICK BELOW for full details:

The World Factbook prepared by the CIA defines literacy in the United States as “age 15 and over can read and write.” [1]

The World literacy map is shown here:

Literacy rates in the United States and Europe have experienced a steady decline since 1950. As I send three sons to school this new school year, one starting high school, I am particularly sensitive to the importance of remaining competitive – globally and locally – through literacy. Do you part to promote literacy today through service – Galatians 5:13; Philippians 2:4; Luke 22:27; and 1 Peter 4:10.

It is hard to “celebrate” International Literacy Day knowing that so many of our brothers and sisters around the world still struggle in this area.

Labor Day

By Kevin Wayne Johnson | Authors , Books , Christianity , Religion , Spirituality , Uncategorized

Today is recognized as Labor Day in the United States and is one of the ten (10) official federal holidays. What a wonderful opportunity for us all to relax, restore, and REST.

Colossians 3:10 reads: “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.” As you turn your mind towards God today, think about His love, peace, and awesome power. Think about the fantastic summer season that you have enjoyed.  Think about another season of fall that we are about to enter. Think about how He has brought you through the first eight months of this year.  Finally, thank Him for salvation.

This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!” – Psalm 118:24

Thank God today for rest from our daily labor.
