On Sunday & Monday of this week, I celebrated my 58th birthday.
First, at church on Sunday with a ton of family, friends and members where I preached from the topic: “A Friend Indeed.” This simple, yet profound sermon reminded us all about the value and merits of friendship. Jesus is our friend and advocate! I saw friends from my high school as well as my freshman year in college and everyone else in between. What a joy. Afterwards, we had dinner with my immediate family, my dad and brother and good friend Thom, from high school.
On Monday, the 16th, my actual date of birth in 1960, I spent time meeting at a government agency to discuss my business mission and vision with a great team of professionals, then spent time with my middle son, Chris, in DC at the 2018 MLB All-Star Game festivities at the Washington Convention Center. What a joy to see the Hall of Fame mementos and having a greater appreciation for the players back in the 1800’s and early 1900’s. I took a photo next to the World Series trophy, made new each year by Tiffany’s and valued at close to $1M, and being in the company of thousands of fans throughout my day. Later that evening, I had dinner again with my immediate family.
Birthday’s are to be cherished with loved one’s. It was a great day…I look forward to so many more! Dream big…
